Portable DVD Players

By Marcus Peterson

What makes portable DVD players so popular? Movie viewing has come out of the theatres and into the comfort of your home with the onset of DVD players. About a decade ago, the world of electronics and gadgetries burst onto the scene with equipment like personal and laptop computers, PDAs, GPS devices, plasma televisions, cell phones and more. The most popular electronic device however, is the DVD player.

Watching a great movie takes away your boredom especially when youre traveling. A portable DVD player can go with you anywhereon planes, buses, cruise ships, etc. You can watch a movie, sit back and relax. Your destination is secondary, when you have a great movie to keep you entertained. With a set of

reliable headphones, you can further enjoy your movie without having to be distracted by the various chatters around you. Portable DVD players are a must when youre on the road. Kids enjoy them while traveling in automobiles. Many luxury cars are now equipped with DVD players to keep families entertained for hours. Face it, you cant leave home without a DVD portable player, so check your local department store or search online. There are thousands to choose from in a price range that is sure to fit your budget.

The Best Features of Portable DVD Players to Consider

Whether you want a big or small screen, the dimension and weight of the portable DVD player must be borne in mind. It is advisable to ask about the disc formats that are supported by the portable DVD player. For instance, can a CD be played on it, or can it support a CD-R, CD-RW, OR DVD-R? The most important factor to look for is the quality output it offers whether you want to use the player for video or audio purposes. Most portable DVD players come installed with built-in screens that make for pleasurable viewing. Larger screens are definitely the best.

Also, take note if the DVD player you are interested in has virtual surround sound so it will not impair your movie viewing even without hooking it on your home entertainment system.

6 Things To Look For When Selecting An Online DVD Rental Company

By Christopher Landry

Picking which online DVD rental company to choose is not an easy decision. This article will give you 6 things to look for when trying to decide which Online DVD Rental company is best for you and your family. After all, an informed customer generally makes a happy customer.

First you need to decide how many DVDs you would like to have out at one time. Are you a heavy user who thinks that most television shows are pathetic and would like to watch a new release DVD movie or a movie classic on DVD once or twice a night? Or, are you an occasional DVD watcher that likes to squeeze in a movie in what little free time you can muster? Not all online DVD rental companies are built the same. Before signing up for an online DVD rental service, you should first review all of the plan options. The most popular DVD rental companies like BLOCKBUSTER Online and Netflix offer plans ranging from 1 title out at a time all the way up to 4 titles out at a time. The first thing you need to determine is how often you plan on watching movies.

Second is the Pricing of online DVD movie rental services. There are only small differences in the monthly prices between the different companies but the price between one title out and 4 titles out can be in excess of $20 per month. The larger online DVD movie rental companies have price ranges from $4.99 per month all the way up to $23.99 per month. Intelliflix is a new comer to the online DVD movie marketplace and they offer 3 DVDs out for only $8.25 per month based on the Intelliflix annual membership of $99 per year. It is best to compare pricing in a side-by-side format. You can save a lot of money by paying for a year up front as to paying month to month.

The third thing to look for is how many titles the online DVD movie rental service provider keeps in stock. Some carry more than others. In fact, most of the online rental providers have been adding classical movies to their collections by the droves. Back in 2005, Netflix and BLOCKBUSTER Online carried only around 25,000 titles each and today they both carry well over 60,000 titles. Netflix is far and away the leader in this category at well over 75,000 titles in their collection. If you are just looking for the new release DVDs, then most of the online DVD rental providers will be able to accommodate you, but if you are looking for some obscure/independent films, you may want to check out which online DVD rental plan has the widest selection of DVD movies.

Fourth is whether or not the online DVD movie rental provider offers a free trial. It is important that you have the option of a free trial as you want to be sure that you are comfortable with the providers website for picking out movies, the turn around time on getting your next title, and the customer service the provider can provide. Both BLOCKBUSTER Online and Netflix offer a free 2-week trial. I recommend signing up for both of them, see how they both work, and after 2 weeks cancel one of them and keep the online DVD movie rental provider that you are most comfortable with. The 2-week free trial will help you get comfortable without committing to any one provider before you know how they operate.

Fifth is whether or not you would you would like video games to be included in the package. Some online DVD rental service companies offer video games with their packages but most do not. If you are interested in having the option of choosing a video game over a DVD every once in a while, you will want to check that out before committing to a provider. The video games are treated the same as DVDs when it comes to shipping and return shipping. As a general rule, providers that offer video games as well as DVDs tend to be a little more expensive every month. So, if you do not play video games, you are usually better off with a provider that does not provide video games.

And last, but not least, is the sixth thing to look for when signing up for an online DVD rental program is whether or not the provider offers Adult DVD online movie rentals. Just like the video game option, some online DVD rental sites offer online Adult or XXX DVD movie rentals and some do not. If you are interested in this option, you should be sure that the provider you choose has this option as part of their package.

These are just a short list of the things that should be considered when selecting an online DVD movie by mail service. As I have stated before, an educated consumer generally results in a more satisfied consumer. Happy movie watching.

Chris Landry is the foremost authority in the Online DVD movie rental by mail marketplace. Chris founded http://www.DVDRentalChoices.com in 2004, which has informed and educated thousands of consumers free of charge over the years.

Chris has pre-qualified several high-quality Online DVD movie rental providers and compares them side-by-side by price, features, and the options that were discussed above at http://dvdrentalchoices.com/dvd-comparisons.html.

=?tis-620?Q?Unlimited_Movie_Downloads_=96_Even_My_Grandma_Downloads_Movie?= =?tis-620?Q?s?=

By Davion Wong

Unlimited movie downloads are available to us nowadays through online movie stores. Being able to download movies at the click of a mouse has opened up our 17 inch monitor into a movie theater, one that never closes at night, and screens any movie we desire to watch at our beck and call. Such is how far our technology has advanced. We will see why unlimited movie downloads online stores have revolutionized the whole movie industry and what you are missing out if you are still stuck with your VCDs and DVDs.

It wasnt so long ago when we were still relying on VCRs, acronym for video recorders to watch movies on tapes. If you are born after the 80s, you probably might have a very vague idea or mental image about what those gadgets are. Perhaps you have sat beside your grandma on the couch watching a recorded TV show or movie from one of those little black boxes, or you have come across one of those in the junkyard or even museum. In the 90s, the arrival of those small little discs called video compact discs or VCDs took the movie industry by storm. Compact by the standards of those days, these still have its place in the home of many Americans. However, fast forward to today, downloading and watching movies online is gaining such great speeds that we simply cannot ignore.

You may wonder whats the big deal about being able to access unlimited movie downloads. After-all, your VCD and DVDs are working well and not giving you problems right? Lets see what you are missing out as your neighbor next door is quietly downloading his favorite TV show.

1. Convenience of Movie Downloads

Buying a VCD or DVD is easy if you know what title you are looking for. However, if you are like me who simply want to grab a good show so that you can relax and watch it during the weekend, imagine with me then that you could be doing a little searching at the movie store reading reviews and thinking which movie is good and worth your bucks. You cannot be buying everything you like because they are costly right? Next, you would be queuing with the rest of the folks for your turn to make your payment. Compress that image and envisage you sitting in front of the computer, and with a few clicks, the movie is ready for viewing. Isnt that cool?

Whether you want to watch a movie or TV show at 4am, or on an off day, the movie sites are there round the clock, ready to serve you with unlimited movie downloads.

2. Cheaper Alternative

Movie VCD and DVD prices have dwindled over time owing to lower costs of production. If you have studied economics, you would understand about fixed capital costs and why mass manufacturing would eventually bring costs down. Nevertheless, to cough out $10 or more for a VCD/DVD is still too expensive to me. Well, after all, you probably would only watch it once and then chuck it aside to collect dust. Download sites however run on a lifetime membership model where you can gain access to virtually unlimited movie downloads. And the best part is you dont pay for per movie download, but one low payment for lifetime access. We are not even talking about thousands or hundreds of dollars, but the cost of one or two good DVDs.

3. Movie Downloads Are Safe & Legal

People are concerned about downloading movies online. That is totally understandable for two reasons. Downloading a file online can expose your computer to harmful adware or spyware. Worse still, if you are downloading a movie illegally, this could land you in big trouble with the law. But these two problems are well taken care of at these unlimited movie downloads sites. Firstly, they ensure secured downloading and protection against attacks of adware and spyware. Secondly, many of these sites have made agreements with the original producers of those movies such as studios, etc to release those movies online for downloading. With these two worries behind us, it becomes clear that having access to unlimited movie downloads is a strong proposition for us not to ignore these download sites.

These reasons are probably the push factors for more people flocking to their sites instead of heading to traditional movie stores or cinema theaters for a movie. Read a review about those unlimited movie downloads sites at my blog to find out which are the hot favorites among movie viewers nowadays.

Scary Movie Manias Spreading

By Sidney Shannon

For horror movie fans every where there were already probably 100 if not a thousand websites devoted to fans mad about the genre. Now theres one more site on the fan radar. Scary Movie Mania, launched the end of February 2007, has just about every scary movie thats' ever been made. I'm talking about not only the classics, like Frankenstein and Dracula, starring some of everyones favorite actors such as Bela Legosi, Lon Chaney Jr., Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing, but also many present day flicks, many movies considered modern day classics, such as Amityville Horror. Theres also the newest version, some consider better than the original, starring Ryan Reynolds. And theres the movie thats probably the scariest of all time, The Exorcist.

Scary Movie Mania certainly isnt the first website to sell horror movies, but its probably the only one that has a database of over 2,000 of some of the scariest movies of all time. They not only have an impressive collection of horror movies on DVD and VHS, but also on PSP, so fans can get their fix of horror movies while in transit.

Although the majority of their products are horror movies, there's also posters available for sale. You know those cool movie posters that you see outside the movie theater? Movie posters have long been the target of not just the serious collector of movie memorabilia but also many average movie goers. On the site there are reproductions (or copies) of probably 98% of their posters. And the other 2% are for the aforementioned serious collectors. Theres a re-created poster of the movie Alien for over $300, and one of Dracula for almost $400. But the big daddy of them all, is the original King Kong Movie poster that sells for over $1,600.

Scary Movie Mania is the prototypical site for those perpetually suffering fromscary movie mania, defined as a condition possessed by people who are crazy about horror movies. So if you happen to be crazy about horror movies, then this site is definitely for you. Scary Movie Mania---its a real scream

High Definition DVD Players

By Marcus Peterson

High definition DVD players give consumers high quality picture and sound. High definition DVD players work better with high definition DVDs that store up to two hours of 720p or 1080i on their discs. High definition DVD players can play discs that are in both MP3 and JPEG format. The output can be in two different formats, like Dolby digital and DTS digital. Some high definition DVD players have recording facilities and they record in DVD-read and DVD read/write modes. New high definition DVD players are designed to play almost all kinds of discs.

The increased capacity of high definition discs will eventually bring an end to single movie multi disc sets. It may be possible to fit an entire season of a television show onto one disc.

The normal input source of a DVD is 480i.480p. The output remains the same when played on a standard DVD player. But when played on a High Definition player, output is scaled up to 1080i/720p, giving you crystal clear picture and sound. This process is called scale up processing. De-interlacing algorithm process allows each frame of a video captured at 30 FPS to be split into two separate frames at 60 FPS. Each frame represents one field of video. The process permits the temporal content to be removed from the image.

High definition DVD players provide quality and accurate playbacks of CDs and MP3s, and are WMA compatible. Sound quality in the high definition DVDs are excellent. Naturally high definition DVD players offer crystal-clear Dolby Digital sound. All other features like parental controls, various on-screen menu functions, digital photo viewer, progressive scan, instant replay and instant skip are also provided in this player.

When purchasing a high definition DVD player, make sure that it has all necessary accessories like digital virtual interface jacks attached to them. HD DVD come in three different formats, HD DVD-ROM for read-only, HD DVD-R for write-once discs and HD DVD-Rewritable for rewritable discs.

King Kong Movie Review

By Jake Addison

Peter Jackson, the mastermind who directed and co-wrote the screenplay for the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, is at it again with a remake of the 1933 classic: King Kong. Being Jacksons personal favourite movie when he was growing up, its easy to see why he chose King Kong as his follow-up movie to the Lord of the Rings.

Peter Jacksons King Kong isnt a sequel, but rather a remake of the 1933 classic. Set in the 1930s Carl Denham (Jack Black) is a filmmaker who takes his cast and crew to shoot a movie the mysterious Skull Island. There they find the incredible creature, Kong. Leading actress Ann Darrow (Naomi Watts) quickly catches Kongs eye, and is kidnapped by the King of the Gorillas. It is up to the rest of the crew, led by Jack Driscoll (Adrien Brody) to rescue Ann.

Typical of a Peter Jackson film, King Kong has a running time of over 3 hours. Jackson likes to thoroughly introduce all the characters in his movies, and this one is on different. Once the crew reaches Skull Island, thats where the movie really picks up. The action scenes are absolutely breathtaking and are helped by a fantastic musical score provided by James Newton Howard.

Jack Black, not known for dramatic roles, gives a surprisingly strong performance as filmmaker Carl Denham, and is helped by a superb supporting cast which includes Naomi Watts, Adrien Brody and Colin Hanks.

This is a typical Peter Jackson film. The characters are well developed, the acting is top notch, the action scenes are fantastic, the visual effects are stunning and all is topped off with a superb musical score. This film should be in every DVD collection.

Motivational writer Jake Addison approaches his movie reviews in a urban minded way. Jake has written thousands and thousands of movie reviews. The way he covers the pro's and con's of each movie is truly amazing. So before you think about watching your next movie, take time out the read over Jakes reviews. The Hills Have Eyes Movie Review

By Nick Jones

Plot:

An updated version of Wes Craven's 1977 film of the same name,"The Hills Have Eyes" is the story of a family road trip that goes terrifyingly awry when the travelers become stranded in a government atomic zone. Miles from nowhere, the Carters soon realize the seemingly uninhabited wasteland is actually the breeding ground of a blood-thirsty mutant family...and they are the prey.

Cast: Ezra Buzzington, Aaron Stanford, Emilie de Ravin, Kathleen Quinlan, Ted Levine, Vinessa Shaw, Dan Byrd, Robert Joy.

My Thoughts:

Gritty and realistic just like the original.

Review:

"The Hills Have Eyes" is a remake of Wes Cravens original 1977 movie where a road tripping family winds up stranded in a government atomic zone, which is inhabited by a very nasty mutant family. The 2006 remake really captures the spirit of the original and in a way is way more twisted also. This film revolves around the Carter family Brenda, Bob, Bobby, Ethel, their oldest daughter Lynne, her husband Doug, and their baby daughter. Prior to introducing us to the Carter's, the beginning of the movie quickly laments the idea that the Hills do have eyes when 3 CDC agents are made short work of by someone weilding a pick axe. It's a very entertaining and gory scene which sets the mood and tone of the movie nicely, before the opening credits roll. The Carter's are driving to San Diego for a good old fashioned family vacation.

Now before the rationalists step in and say huh? Doug brings up the million dollar question early in the film, of why couldn't they have just "flown" like normal people? As if trekking through the desert heat wasn't bad enough, the trailer they're pulling behind them has a busted air conditioner much to Doug's dismay. The early impression of the Carter family is your typical american red state american family. While Doug comes off as more of the liberal democrat type, despite being married to their oldest daughter.

This culture clash is set up nicely and works to enhance the films early dialogue which keeps the movie interesting early on. Because of their differing beliefs, Bob Carter does not particularly care for Lynne's husband Doug, and they spend alot of the early moments of the movie taking snipes at each other which are sure to extract some giggles and laughs from the viewer. Taking a page out of the "Wrong Turn" book, we are introduced to a desert yokel who may or may not be leading people into those "Hills". It isn't necessarily said that he's doing this, but it is strongly hinted at and he does definitely know about the Hill people.

After the Carters fill up the gas tank, this man hips them to a short cut which according to him will save them a couple hours. The Hill people meanwhile are watching and taking yet another page out of "Wrong Turn", they set up a spike trap to blow out the tires of the Carter family SUV, stranding them in the desert. Alex Aja does an excellent job building suspense in this movie because after the opening scene, we don't see the hill people anymore until about 35 minutes into the movie. But Alex keeps us on the edge of our seat with scenes that strongly suggest they are out there, lurking, watching, and waiting for the perfect time to strike. Aja also keeps the Hill folks hidden most of the time. The only one we really get a full look at early in the movie is Ruby, who compared to the rest of the Hill people looks mostly normal. The Hill people themselves are a disturbing looking bunch, and the sounds they make along with their violent and perverse actions throughout the mo vie are equally disturbing. Why are they violent and perverse?

Well to make a long story short, the government wanted to test their "toys" on their land. The families refused to leave, so the government tested their "toys" there anyway. The radioactive effects caused severe deformities to all human life within the area, and when you mix years of festering anger over the matter, plus horrid deformities, you've got very fertile land for violent, anti social behavior. Once the Carter's become stranded in this desolate wasteland...most of the scenes that follow are spent with their son Bobby chasing down their two german shepards "Beauty" and "Beast" who continually escape from the car and go running off into the hills, with one of the dogs having the unfortunate luck of crossing paths with one of the Hill people. Why someone would bring two adult dogs that size with them on family vacation I'll never know. Bob the dad, and Doug decide to go seek out help for their dire situation, which is where the film begins it's descent into madness a s the Hill people seize this opportunity to attack the remaining members of the family.

Obviously...albeit deformed and borderline retarded...the Hill folk understand that these suburbanites...like in the case of most families, are at their most vulnerable when the two adult males of the group are gone. The trailer attack scene is the highlight of the movie as alot of shocking events unfold during which include the loss of three main characters, and a very disturbing rape scene. Wes Craven and Alex Aja who wrote the script for "The Hills Have Eyes" really didn't slink off on the graphic nature of the movie, staying true to the original. The deaths even though there aren't very many, still carry a very big impact because of how the scenes are set up and written to take place. Craven and Aja also do a great job with the revenge angle of the story, as those who managed to survive the trailer attack, decide to take the fight to the people in the Hills who have not only taken the lives of their loved ones, but also have kidnapped Doug and Lynnes baby.

The final act of "The Hills Have Eyes" is outstanding in it's franetic pace, and overall intensity. It carries alot of suspense, awesome fight scenes, lots of blood, gore, loss of limbs, and carnage, and we get to fully see the Hill freaks which there are more of than at first thought. You'd be surprised to know that besides Aaron Standford who gives an awesome performance as Doug, one of the Carter family dogs carries the final act of the movie very nicely and at the screening I attended was certainly a crowd favorite. I am not sure which dog it was because both Beauty and Beast were the same breed, but whichever one it was, it...along with an unexpected ally, certainly did their fair share of helping to battle the films villains. "The Hills Have Eyes" while slow in a few early areas, does an excellent job of building suspense and containng all of the elements a true horror movie should. Backing all of that up with above average performances, a substantial amount of blood and gore, and boasting a very strong 80's horror feel, it ranks right up there with Wes Cravens original.

Pros:

Good performances especially by Aaaron Stanford, even though the previews will have you believing Emilie De Ravin is the star of this movie, Stanford is the one who's involved in more scenes than anyone else. Blood, gore, and horror elements were strongly present which is always a plus. Also gotta love that heroic dog which saved Doug's ass more than once. The vacant desert and empty smalltown settings also worked to create alot of suspense throughout the movie. The Hill folks as the villains of the movie were really good.

Cons:

I felt Emilie De Ravin should've had a few more scenes than she did. Other than that nothing major.

Overall:

A worthy remake, and a fun time at the movies. Definitely worth the price of admission.

Alpha Dog

By Marshall Ward

Nick Cassavetes is the son of one of Americas most revered film directors. John Cassavetes (1929-89) made cheap cinema look intellectually respectable. He was pure jazz. His shooting style was fast and loose, and his plots were ugly. But he adored actors. He encouraged them to improvise. Some say he is the godfather of modern cinema.

The young Cassavetes has always been in awe of this magic. He inherited the desire. He inherited the stars. Hes made expensive films. But precious little has genuinely clicked. Even by art-house standards, Nicks career has had to unfold under the most intimidating of shadows. He has been blessed with advantages his father could only dream about. He has secured parts as an actor in a healthy spread of Hollywood fare. He has directed glittering casts in films that perhaps promised more than they delivered. But Alpha Dog is topical and controversial; the story clearly shines with his own useful disillusions and search for artistic point. I suspect Cassavetes Sr might have been pleased.

It is the first film Cassavetes has shot in anger, and it rings worryingly true. The tabloid details are all too familiar. The director lays out the acts like a court case. There are subtitles announcing who is whom and an endless list of times and dates. This is because the film is the fictional mirror of a real crime that narrates the six-year pursuit by the authorities of an LA drugs king-pin. A gang of white, rich kids is running rampant in the middle-class districts of LA. They are Eminem clones with respectable parents who are too busy to care. Emile Hirsch will never play a role as fabulously cruel for the rest of his career. He is Johnny Truelove, a drug dealer and would-be Tony Soprano. He has cash, girls and sacks of drugs. Most of all he has Bruce Willis (armed with a convincing hairpiece) as his father. We know Bruce is mean meat from the first scene. He is sitting in an armchair in his bungalow being interviewed about a murder that may or may not involve his wayward son. A tiff between the local Nazi nutter, Jake (Ben Foster) who cant pay his crack bills and the arrogant Johnny sparks an insane plot.

If the film wasnt based so closely on the truth it would be hard to swallow. It took two years for Cassavetes to picklock the legalities.

Johnny persuades trusted members of his gang to kidnap Jakes 15-year-old brother, Zach (a great and humbling performance by Anton Yelchin). The wisdom of this clumsy snatch is quite lost on Justin Timberlake. He is Frankie, and he has the attention span of a slug. He is Johnnys best friend, and the unwitting heart of the movie.

Johnny charges Frankie to guard the kidnapped boy. Frankie promptly forgets his jail duties. He likes Zach, and Zach doesnt mind being kidnapped. Frankies dad has a huge swimming pool. The deck chairs are full of teenage totty, and the cast is contractually obliged to ignite a large Camberwell Carrot every ten minutes. Zach, the prisoner, has never had it so good. Cassavetes assembles his chilly twists around Hirsch. The actors eyes glitter with deadpan pleasure. His character Johnny is demonic. He might be Pinky from Brighton Rock, or a young James Cagney. But thats too exotic. Hirsch wears a back-to-front baseball cap, a mobile phone and a smirk. The cruelty is banal. Thats the creepy power. It helps that his father is the neighbourhood bruiser. And its a given that his No 1 desert island tune would be Guns and Bitches by Gangstas in the Hood.

This sheer lack of communication is the honest and electric shock. No one, including Willis, is immune. The real crime is that the entire morality of a generation is being tapped out by teenagers on mobile phones.

Cynics will doubtless fear Alpha Dog for all the wrong reasons. They will fume about its credibility. They will wonder about the phenomenal number of tattoos on show. They will link the casual horror of this film to Mondays murders in Virginia.

True, Alpha Dog is a film with no manners. But it has great nerve. Whats truly impressive is how the splintered story is buried by individual performances. That shows great skill and brave directing. Timberlake is a revelation as the Pontius Pilate of thugs. His fealty is tragic. It twists his wits. It contradicts conventional wisdom. But thats the nature, and loyal demand, of friends. I think many teenagers will enjoy and understand this.

Steer Clear Of The Law When You Are Duplicating DVDs

By Gregg Hall

Consumers today are faced with confusing decisions about the law and duplicating media. With so many free downloads available on the Internet it is often difficult to determine what is legal and what is not legal to download. With the heightening technology that is available to everyday consumers many individuals find it impossible to get a straight answer to their questions.

When is it legal?

If you buy the music can you own a copy?

How about recording movies from TV or music off the radio?

Can you legally loan your favorite movie to a friend?

Let's take a brief glimpse at the law and duplicating A DVD, and hopefully ease some of the confusion. This overview of copyrights is designed to introduce you to the basic laws that are involved in copying software, movies, music, and other copyrighted materials.

What is Protected by Copyrights?

All media forms are protected by a copyright, including: movies, music, and reading material. Copyrighting is a way to protect the owner of the work by giving them the rights to control and distribute the material. The owner of a copyright may decide to sell it for money or give it away for free.

Shareware and freeware are examples of free distributing software given to individuals by the creator of the software. These are designed and built by the company and could be sold to individuals but instead this software is given away at no cost. Every company or individual, that retains copyrights to material, has to decide the best way to distribute his or her information. Many companies find that offering free basic software will bring clients in for upgraded versions of the software. But most DVD and music copyrights are not legally free for copying.

Companies that give their information away fro free are not interested in protecting their copyright. In cases such as this you can freely copy the CD or DVD, because the copyright is not protected. Other software programs are protected and the owner of the copyright will usually charge a fee to purchase the software or get a code to download the software. Any copyright holder can choose to assert their copyright.

If you copy a piece of media, such as a DVD, without the consent of the copyright holder it is illegal. You should always refer to the copyright when considering duplicating a DVD. Even duplicating copyrighted material for your own use is often illegal. Music, DVDs, and software programs are all copyrighted material that cannot be duplicated without the express written consent of the copyright holder.

Just Friends DVD Review

By Chris Shelton

A romantic comedy starring Amy Smart and Ryan Reynolds, Just Friends is a funny story about a friendship attempting to be taken to the next step. The movie uses a real life situation that tends to plague many people, the challenge of just being friends. While there are criticisms of the movies character development, the movie does deliver in its ability to consistently provide a good chuckle.

Amy Smart and Ryan Reynolds carry the average script fairly well. Although the movie isnt written overly well, the actors do a good job of using their own talents to deliver lines that can consistently bring out a laugh out of viewers. The plot is fairly unoriginal and uninspired but it is still interesting enough for many viewers. However, the character development is very poor. The characters seem to switch personalities mid-scene and fail to develop properly. There is no consistently in personality.

However, the storyline itself cant be attacked too much. Truly, it is not meant to be in such a movie. The movie is an average romantic comedy, it doesnt attempt to bring anything new or original to the scene. Rather, it takes a situation that many people have found themselves in and can relate to and uses them to create funny scenes that are played out well by the solid acting of the two stars. The movie can be uninspired but it still is successful and getting a rise out of viewers.

Overall, Just Friends is a decent romantic comedy that is bound to find a match in somebodys DVD collection. It wont win any awards, but the movie creates scenes that everyone can relate to and capitalizes on them by making them funny without trying too hard. The actors show good talent and have good chemistry on screen. The DVD offers a few deleted scenes and bonus features but is not packed with anything else notable to speak of. Just Friends is an average offering that is successful and doing what it intended to do.

High Definition DVD Players in Italy

By John Dulaney

Several companies produce good quality DVD players in Italy. Samsung, Toshiba, and Buffalo are some of the famous manufacturers of high resolution DVD players and they have exclusive showrooms in Italy. They not only play high resolution DVDs, but also CDs and MP3s. The demand for HD-DVD players in Italy is growing rapidly because the players come up with many features like parent controls and on-screen functions on the menu incorporated within them. To make the viewing experience of the people a memorable one, the high resolution DVD players available in Italy deliver crystal clear sound, thanks to the Dolby Digital sound system they use.

While checking the stores in Italy for high definition DVD players, ensure that they have necessary accessories like digital virtual interface jacks attached to them. These new age players have user-friendly features like instant replay and skip facility, progressive scan system, and digital photo viewer capability.

One look at the various electronics stores in Italy brings forward a variety of qualities that high definition DVD players have. There are plenty of high definition wireless media players available in Italy that have various features like progressive scan and parent control system. They cost only around $200, which is quite a bargain. The HD-DVD players from Buffalo are quite famous all over Italy and are priced around $160. Sony also comes up with its DVD players in Italy with a plethora of features like HDMI exit and the players have an upper scale function of 720p/1080i. They are priced a little over $170. Another famous brand in Italy that provides high definition DVD players is Samsung. Samsung players provide almost the same video output as Sony HD-DVD players, and are priced unbelievably around $100. One can check out the details of various DVD players by visiting their outlets or through the Internet.

You can also check the Internet for various HD-DVD players available in Italy. One can collect as much information about them as needed from various sites and place an order on the net. Usually a predetermined amount of delivery charges will be levied on the customers on every purchase of high resolution DVD players made through the Internet. High definition DVD players give consumers a higher quality picture and sound. This is achieved by using advanced model chips for processing. HD-DVD players work better with high definition DVDs that store up to two hours of 720p or 1080i on their discs.

VCR players that play VHS tapes display images that are 250-line interfaced. The next generation video players after VCRs were standard DVD players. They usually display a 480-line interfaced image on the screen. In the case of high definition DVD players, we find 480-line image which implements progressive scan method. This entitles the viewers to see a crystal clear picture and increases the clarity of the video as well as the audio signal. Newer and expensive models of high definition DVD players focus on enhancing the resolution and sharpness of the broadcast. For this purpose, electronic companies and manufacturers of DVD players are experimenting with a variety of technologies like lasers, complex compression techniques, and very large scale integrated circuits.

If you decide to buy a high definition DVD player in Italy, you should ensure that all the accessories that enable you to watch high definition discs on your television sets are provided with the DVD player. This is because some of the sets are not compatible and they do not play HD-DVD format discs. You need to have a digital virtual interface jack to play HD-DVD discs.

There are many electronics stores in Italy that stocks numerous models of DVD players including the advanced and expensive high definition DVD players. You can also verify the features and choose to purchase players that can play DVDs and MP3 discs apart from high definition discs. These DVD players incorporate many other functions and are capable of doing things like recording, other than just playing discs. Slim line designs and portable wide screen models are some of the famous versions that are available from this range of DVD players.

High definition DVD players can play discs that are in both MP3 format as well as JPEG format. You can also have the output in two different formats like Dolby digital and DTS digital. Few HD-DVD players have recording facilities and they record in DVD-read and DVD read/write modes. The current generation HD-DVD players are designed to play almost all kinds of discs.

High definition DVD players present the output in digital format from the data or information stored in digital format, and this makes the conversion process quite simple and smooth. If high definition discs are played in HD-DVD players, then great clarity and superb sound can be achieved. To play standard discs with the same kind of clarity, you need to have a high definition multimedia interface present in your player. This helps you get the best possible image or picture.

In other standard DVD players available in Italy that plays standard DVDs, the information or data are stored in analog format on these discs. Players have to convert data present in the analog format to the digital format and hence the picture quality is not optimum. When it comes to high definition DVD players, the data are read from discs that store them in the digital format and hence the output is clear and perfect. DVD players available in Italy not only play DVDs, but also SVCD, VCD, DIVX, CD-R, and CD-RW.

You can select high definition DVD players depending on the models, options, features, and cost. You can also check out various accessories that can be attached to HD-DVD players and their costs vary according to the company or brand you choose.

Blockbuster Online VS Netflix

By Ryan Hansen

One of the questions I'm asked most is: should I subscribe to, Blockbuster Online or Netflix ? This is an obvious question. These two have been competing fiercely since Netflix took DVD renting online in 1998. Netflix and Blockbuster are the two most popular online DVD rental companies. So which is better?

First, I recommend trying both Blockbuster and Netflix for a while and then choosing which one is your favorite. After all, both offer two week free trials, so without a doubt you should be trying Blockbuster and Netflix for at least two weeks. You'll want to compare prices, variety of DVDs, speed of delivery, other features offered by the companies.

For those with prices in mind, to be honest there really isn't all that much of a difference between Blockbuster and Netflix. Netflix does offer the lowest price possible if you're only interested in two movies per month, one DVD out at a time. A plan like that is very restrictive, but if you do only want two movies per month, Netflix should be your choice. Blockbuster also offer one more price plan Netflix doesn't; For $7.99 you can have one movie at a time with a total limit of three. Blockbuster and Netflix Prices are identical for the more popular plans with unlimited DVD rentals per month:

- 4 DVDs at a time: $23.99
- 3 DVDs at a t time: $17.99
- 2 DVDs at a time: $14.99
- 1 DVD at a time: $9.99

Delivery times are also highly comparable, but there are differences. The most notable difference is that Netflix has been known for throttling delivery speed of their subscribers who rent the most DVDs. In other words, if you rent a lot of movies from Netflix, eventually your delivery times will begin to slow in order to keep costs down. Blockbuster Online doesn't seem to take part in any form of throttling delivery speed and actively denies it. Netflix does ship very fast, as does Blockbuster, but if you plan to rent a lot of DVDs and think you'll be mailing out movies as fast as you're receiving them, you'll like Blockbuster.

You're not going to find all that much of a difference in selection and variety. Netflix and Blockbuster have a selection that is deep and wide. DVDs range from new releases to classics to everything else. Keep in mind, however, if you'll be interested in video games, Netflix is not for you. Blockbuster offers their Total Access program which allows subscribers to return their DVDs they got online to the local Blockbuster, and then pick out a new DVD or video game immediately. Blockbuster has a competitive advantage that Netflix can't touch.

For those interested in their movies on demand, you may want to look to Netflix before Blockbuster. They recently began streaming DVDs to some subscribers with plans to release this feature to all Netflix subscribers in the near future. Plans will not cost a cent more. You'll be given one hour of streaming video per dollar your plan costs, so the $17.99 plan will get you 18 hours to watch streaming Netflix DVDs. At this time, this is not being offered by Blockbuster.

So the final answer? As I said before: Try both Blockbuster and Netflix! Trust me, the only way to know which service fits YOUR needs best, is to try them both for yourself. However, both Blockbuster and Netflix have certain advantages that could make your mind up right away. The whole answer comes down to which feature would you prefer: Blockbuster's Total Access or Netflix's streaming movies. If you like the idea of returning your DVDs to your neighborhood Blockbuster store and picking out something new (even games!), try Blockbuster. But, if you want your movies delivered to you instantly through your broadband connection, Netflix is your answer.

Is Online DVD Rental or Pay-Per-View the Best Way to Get Your Movies?

By Kaitlin Carruth

With renting methods such as online DVD rental and pay-per-view, it seems almost old-fashioned to go to the rental store. But with all the different ways to get the latest movies, which way is the best? Well, that depends on what is important to you. Here are some of the different ways you can get the latest movies and the pros and cons of each.

Going to the Rental Store

I guess it is like they say, sometimes you can't teach an old dog new tricks. It is hard to change from the old ways, especially when they work fairly well. If you want to see a movie, there is always a rental store nearby that should have it available. You are allowed to keep it for a couple of days for a price of around $4.00. However, if that movie is late, you have to expect some horrendous late fees (they usually will charge you an additional $4.00 as if you were renting the movie a second time; this gives you a couple of days to turn the movie again before they charge you again). For those who cannot change there ways, renting from a store is not a bad way to go, but you should at least check out the other possibilities, such as the online DVD rental system or pay-per-view, and see what they have to offer.

Online DVD Rental

The newer system of online DVD rental has its upsides and downsides. This system is for avid movie fans. In this system you usually do not pay for each DVD but instead pay a monthly fee for the DVD delivery service. With some plans as low as $9.99 a month with no late fees, you can get about any DVD delivered to your door in one business day. When you are done with that DVD, you simply send it back to receive another. This can be done as many times as you want in one month; however, there is usually a limit of how many DVDs you can have in your possession at one time (depending on how expensive your monthly plan is).

The biggest issue with online DVD rental is the waiting. You have to plan at least one day in advance what movie you want to watch which means no Friday late night movie runs. Also, you have to be renting at least 2-3 movies a month to make it more valuable then renting at your local movie store. If you watch a lot of movies and do not mind the wait, the online DVD rental system may not be a bad option for you.

Pay-Per-View

Pay-per-view has the "right now" benefit that the online DVD rental system does not have. With pay-per-view, whenever you decide you want to watch a movie, you just order it, sit down and watch it. Another benefit with pay-per-view is that you don't have to worry about scratched or skipping DVDs. Companies such as I-Satellite offer 33 pay-per-view channels and 13 sports pay-per-view channels with prices as low as $1.99 to watch a movie. This is definitely a more simplistic way of doing things. However, it can start the money can start to add up if you are an avid movie watcher. Also, with pay-per-view you do not get access to the same "bonus features" that you get with the DVD.

With the choices of renting movies from the store, online DVD rentals, and pay-per-view it is definitely easy to get your movie fix in one way or another. All three methods of getting current blockbusters have their benefits and detriments in which you will have to decide from. Personally, I like the convenience of pay-per-view. No matter when I choose, I can sit down and watch the movie of my choice from several pay-per-view channels available. However, you will have to decide which method is best for you.

Blockbuster Vs. Netflix

By Jake Addison

Movie Rental Comparison: Blockbuster vs. Netflix

Maybe its just me, but Im more old school when it comes to renting DVDs. I decided to give Netflix a try not too long ago, but I was kind of hesitant at first. The reason being is because when I want to watch a movie, I want to watch it now. I dont want to have to wait a day or two twiddling my thumbs waiting for a movie to arrive in my mailbox that Im itching to see.

To me, when its time for Blockbuster to take on Netflix in the Movie Rental ring, I think Blockbuster video delivers the knockout blow. The reason I favor Blockbuster so much more than Netflix is because when I see a commercial advertising the newest DVD release of a movie I just have to see, I got to run to Blockbuster video, grab me a copy, not worry about late fees and return it once Im done viewing it.

Now Im not dissing Netflix, because they do have a very cool premise to themselves. I like the fact that you get to keep the DVD for as long as you want, you just cant get another DVD until you return the one you already have. And I like the plans they have for certain amount of DVDs to rent at a given time. But Im just not too crazy about mailing back a DVD after watching it, then waiting for them to receive the DVD before I can get another one.

With Blockbuster its so simple: You got a craving to watch a movie, you call up Blockbuster to see if it has a copy, and odds are it does as it has the largest selection of DVDs anywhere compared to other video store chains locally, you pick the movie up, you keep it for as long as you want without worrying about late fees. Its the golden answer to my DVD viewing as far as Im concerned.

So I give Blockbuster the nod when it compares to Netflix. Even though Netflix doesnt sound half bad, nothing beats the local selection at my local Blockbuster. Netflix, go towel off, because youre not bad at all, but when it comes to facing Blockbuster, to me, you dont have a fighting chance.

New Scary Movie 4 Pics

By Nick Jones

Below courtesy of WeinsteinCo. are a batch of new images from Scary Movie 4, which stars Anna Faris, Shaun Landers, Shaquille O'Neal, Regina Hall, Phil Mcgraw, Leslie Nielsen, Carmen Electra, Simon Rex, Michael Madsen, and Craig Bierko. In this fourth installment of the popular "Scary Movie" series, recent horror and sci-fi movies such as "Saw 2", "The Grudge", "War of the Worlds", and "The Village" will be spoofed. "Scary Movie 4" arrives in theaters on April 14th.

Madsen was recently added to the cast and told Latino Review that he's not at liberty to discuss what character he will be playing due to him signing a "hush hush" confidentiality clause.

To say that "Scary Movie 3" was a success would be an understatement. The film made on a budget of 45 million dollars raked in 48 million in it's opening weekend. By the time it had left theaters, it had taken in 110 million plus. That's not counting what it did in dvd sales and rentals. A special edition dvd entitled "Scary Movie 3.5" was recently released and that made a pretty chunk of change itself. The Weinstein's are hoping "Scary Movie 4" will be as huge of a hit when it hits theaters this spring.

Homeless to Harvard (2003) - DVD Review

By Thomas Straub

Homeless to Harvard is an inspiring story of Elizabeth Murray, known as Liz, that through sheer determination went from living on the streets to graduating from Harvard University. Thora Birch plays Liz in this drama, that based on a true story about a homeless teen forced to take care of herself after her parents are not able to stop their own drug addition.

Liz grows up caring for her mother that is suffering from AIDS and who takes drugs to cope with the pain. Living in abandoned apartments and eating out of dumpsters, Liz does her best to stay alive and on occasion, go to school.

Without regular running water and proper clothing, she gets shunned by her classmates. A kind teacher brings her some clothes and a toothbrush in exchange for a promise that Liz will start attending school more often. Even though Liz only shows up for class for a few days over many weeks, she passes every test with top scores.

After Liz's mother passes away, she is finally free to use her time and academic abilities to get a better life. To start, she pursues getting a high school diploma. Liz pursues an accelerated high school program in a small school for gifted students, taking twice the normal course load. She works at washing dishes for food and sleeps in the subway. Her homework, papers, and books go with her everywhere, even if it means hanging them over the huge restaurant sink while she works.

A major turning point for Liz was seeing Harvard University for the first time on a school field trip. She cannot believe such a life was even possible, especially for someone like herself. After overhearing a causal remark about a deadline approaching for scholarships, Liz realized she had a chance to go for a college degree as well, but only if she can write her application and essay in time. She knows that if she can get her essay read by the review committee there is a chance.

While Liz walked towards her class, a school official tells her that her application was accepted and she is in the running for a full, four year paid college education at one of the most prestigious colleges in the world, Harvard University. This means that if the New York Times newspaper picks her out of all the applications, Liz will only need to find some decent clothes to wear to her interview.

Homeless to Harvard brings to its audience a lot of inspiration and hope for any kind of challenges ahead. Thora Birch does a wonderful job in her role, expressing the steel determination of Liz Murray with dignity and style.

Homeles to Harvard is not yet rated, and was directed by Peter Levin.

DVD Business: Dynamite Video Distribution

By Sherif Ramadan

The catch-line "Now on DVD" is quickly becoming a marketing cliché for the entertainment industry. How many commercials have you seen lately that advertise new DVD products? How did this obsession start and is it making money? Have DVDs really replaced watching movies on traditional VHS cassettes? Let's take a closer look at this explosive phenomenon from a business perspective.

First of all, incase you're wondering, DVD (also known as Digital Versatile Disc) is a compact disc format for storing data. It ranges from capacities of 1.3 to 15.3 gigabytes (the equivalent of 1 to 6 hours of video). It's the successor of the SD (Super Density) CDs, a format from which DVD evolved.

When CD-ROMs first came out, everyone abandoned the old magnetic tapes (audio cassettes) and began mass-producing music on Compact Disc. Listening to your music on a CD had its advantages. Songs could be put on separate tracks, which made skipping certain parts easier and more convenient. The average CD today can store up to 70 minutes of high-quality audio. The age of rewinding was gone!

Now movies, music-videos, sitcoms, and documentaries are all being released on DVDs. Yesterday we had Blockbuster, today we have Netflix. What happened to the entertainment industry? Apparently they've gone digital!

So, digital is in, magnetic is out. Some of you might be wondering how this all started and how it affects businesses in the entertainment industry today. Well, DVD version 1.5 was first released in September 1996. The first feature motion picture release on DVD, the movie Twister, came out the following year. During that time there was no online, single disc, medium that could store digital video of that quality and length. Standard MPEG compressions couldn't allow a full-length movie to fit on the regular compact discs - which maintained an average 600-650 MB capacity at the time.

After the success of DVD format the world began to see a flux in video distribution. So who's responsible for all of this? While there is no one person or entity that took on the role of creating DVD there are a few companies and engineers who can be traced back to the earliest development of the technology. Philips and Sony who joined forces with Toshiba, led by Lou Gerstner (President of IBM), created this resilient, high-density, optical storage standard now called DVD. Soon an entire fleet of companies began developing DVD players for consumers at affordable prices.

It's clear that DVDs have many advantages over their predecessors - VHS cassettes - such as their growing copyright protection technologies. Now DVDs are harder to pirate than any other media. They're also far more accessible. Most computers sold today come equipped with DVD readers/writers and even video game consoles have incorporated the format. The average DVD player, currently on the market, sells for about $35.

So motion picture features now rely more on their DVD sales revenues than what the box office brings. For example, the movie 'Master and Commander', staring Russell Crowe, cost $175 million to make, but only generated $94 million from its ticket sales. It seems that the cinema trend we have been so accustomed to is forcing businesses to shift their marketing strategies in order to make a profit on these large-scale productions.

It isn't at all uncommon to see blockbuster movies sell more in DVDs than theaters. Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring made $498 million in DVD sales and only $314 million in theaters. Finding Nemo also made $30 million more in its DVD revenues. Even some small-scale productions are making big bucks from their DVDs.

Marketing tactics like 'The Complete Trilogy on DVD' and 'Limited DVD Edition' are used to lure consumers into owning different versions of the same movie. DVDs are marketed to be sold rather than rented and so the revenues surpass that of any VHS movie. Now producers can release dozens of different versions of their movie on DVD. Some include added bonuses like unused footage, exclusive interviews, a behind the scenes look, unrated releases, big-screen adaptations, and trailers.

Where is this going and how far can it get? It seems that DVD has not only replaced VHS cassettes, which are no longer the release format for new movies, but it's also replacing theaters. Now people are building their own home-entertainment systems and turning their living rooms into the big-screen. It isn't difficult with modern home-theater kits and affordable online rentals from companies like Netflix.

Netflix now holds approximately 65,000 DVD titles, renting them to more than 5 million people across the United States, and generates $688 million in revenues. It's the largest online DVD rental service in the world and it takes a huge bite out of the $25 billion chunk that makes up the DVD industry.

Yet Netflix isn't the only one trying to get a piece of the pie. Even McDonalds took a test drive in the DVD seat when it launched its DVD kiosk rental system in Washington, Las Vegas, and Denver. The world is growing more DVD hungry and businesses seem to be adapting themselves to the consumers' demands.

Free Region 0 Hack - Philips DVP 642 DVD Player

By Kathy Steinemann

Perhaps you are a foreign language student or teacher. Maybe you are getting in touch with your roots and you wish to watch DVD titles in the language of your grandparents. Or possibly you just like watching movies from other countries. You purchase a movie, put it into your DVD player, and receive a 'Wrong Region' error.

What do you do?

The popular Philips DVP642 DVD player can easily be made region-free (or 'regionless') with just a few clicks of the remote control. This stylish silver-grey unit is available at your local Wal-Mart and many other electronics outlets. In Canada, it can be found for under $60. Sometimes it is sold region-free right out of the box (although the packaging will state that is for a specific region only).

This Phillips product fits easily into a small space. It is approximately 10 inches deep by 17 inches wide and less than 2 inches in height. It is packaged with a user manual, quick-start guide, audio and video cables, and remote control complete with batteries.

The unit plays a wide variety of formats: Mpeg4; DivX 3.11/4.x, 5.x., and 6.x; DVD+R/+RW; VCDs; SVCDs; picture CDs; MP3-CDs; and CD-R/-RW.

Some of its features include: progressive scan, 4 x video upsampling (54 MHz), and 192 KHz/24-bit audio DAC.

The mechanical spin mechanism is whisper-quiet, picture quality is excellent, and so is the audio. An added plus: once you enter the region hack, the DVD player will automatically adjust for NTSC/PAL TV signals.

Region Hack

  • Set up the DVD unit using the quick-start guide.
  • Play a DVD title for your default region just to make sure that your machine is working properly.
  • Remove the DVD and power down for a few seconds.
  • Turn the power back on and open the DVD tray.
  • Wait for the NO DISC message to appear.
  • Open the DVD tray.
  • Enter the following codes carefully via remote control: 7 8 9 OK 0 (SEVEN EIGHT NINE OK ZERO) The screen will display information showing the default region and the new one.

The '0' in the numerical sequence above refers to the region. Zero is regionless, and should work with just about any DVD. If for some reason you want to limit your DVDs to another region, enter another number in place of the '0'. For example, to play only region 2 DVDs, you would enter: 7 8 9 OK 2.

Philips USA provides good support for their products, and offers software upgrades for future DVD enhancements at their website: philips.com/usasupport. Other users have written reviews and comments at videohelp.com - which contains region hacks for thousands of DVD players - an excellent site.

Note: entering codes via remote control will not void your warranty. A hardware hack will. Although this hack has been used by thousands of users worldwide, try it at your own risk.

Now that your DVD player is regionless, the wonderful world of foreign DVD titles is available for you to explore and enjoy!

More DVD hacks and reviews are available at 111 Travel Directory before you travel in search for your roots.

A Movie Producers Technique for an Unforgettable Wedding Video

By Olivia Romero

Nowadays, when you rent a DVD to watch in the comfort of your home, you can usually count on a Special Features section, where the movie producer includes a back story or making of the movie featurette. This same back story technique can easily be added to your wedding video to add a fun, up close and personal touch, in playful contrast to the formality of the wedding ceremony. And it doesn't require any out of the ordinary time or effort.

The main focus of the back story should be pre-wedding, on-camera interviews with the bride and groom. The wedding rehearsal is a great opportunity for these interviews to be tape recorded.

Interview the bride and groom separately. They shouldn't be allowed to listen to each other's interviews. You want their comments to be an entertaining surprise when they view the finished video.

Conduct the interviews in a quiet space with adequate lighting. Make sure there are no harsh shadows and/or hot spots on the person's face or directly behind them.

If you are relying on the on-camera microphone for the interview, you will have to move the camera approximately 5-6 feet from the subject. Set your camera/tripod at eye level, and then zoom in or out to compose your shot.

Using a hand-held microphone, however, will give you the discretion to compose more complex shots by increasing your camera's range and flexibilty.

Set up a slightly off-center, head shot wide enough to include their upper torso. Be sure not to cut off the top of their heads...or conversely, don't have tons of empty space above their heads.

Once your shot is set up, resist the temptation to zoom in or out.

You will get better interview results by having the bride and groom direct their answers to you as you stand or sit off to the side of the camera. Try to be conversational so as to put them at ease.

The only time that they should look directly into the camera is when you ask them if they have anything they'd like to say to their fianc้e.

Here are some suggested interview questions:

You're getting married tomorrow. How do you feel?

When did you know that _________ was the ONE?

How did you two meet?

What are you expecting from the wedding tomorrow?

Is there anything you'd like to say to your bride/groom tonight?

You can also come up with your own questions. You are only limited by your imagination.

Before you begin rolling tape, it is very important to instruct the bride and groom to restate the question in their answer.

Example: Question:How did you two meet? Answer: We met in a sociology class at the university...

Question: What are you expecting from the wedding tomorrow? Answer: Tomorrow I'm expecting...

Explain to them that their answers need to be complete statements that makes sense all by themselves since the audience viewing the edited videotape will only hear their answer and not your question. Restating part of the question in their answer helps to avoid getting responses that don't make any sense.

Also remember to keep your questions short. Short questions get long answers. Long questions get short answers. Don't be afraid to ask them to elaborate on any point that seems incomplete.
